Crunchyok’s salem animated adaptation of J. K. Rowling’s Harry Potter series has been delayed for more than a year, according to Crunchy.
“We have been working to make a new animated version of Salem that we hope will be released as soon as possible, but this has been a long time coming,” the company said in a statement to The Verge.
Crunchy said that the project was delayed because of “technical issues with the audio.”
The original version of the show is scheduled to premiere this summer, with an official announcement to be made at a later date.
“While we can’t provide an official date, we do hope to be able to announce an animated version this summer,” Crunchy added.
“It is not our intention to delay this title for anything other than the good of the series.”
The company added that they are also working to create a new dub that will include additional voices for the Harry Potter characters.
“After a number of years of work, we have reached the point where we feel we can finally present a new version of our Salem to our fans,” the statement continued.
“In the meantime, we are happy to announce that we have already begun to work on a new original animated version.
It is not yet known when the new version will be available, but we hope to have it out in summer 2017.
We hope that fans will enjoy this new version, and we will continue to work with them to bring new content to our platforms.”
Crunchy has not revealed the new title in full, but it will feature a mix of English and Japanese voices.
“Salem” is set in the wizarding world after Harry Potter died, and the series follows him and his friends as they continue to search for answers and protect their families from threats.
The show’s official website lists the first season as being released in 2020, with a second season expected to arrive later this year.
“As always, we thank everyone for their patience,” the site said.
“Please enjoy the show and look forward to the rest of our schedule.”
